Description Arnold Wang 2011-06-10 18:40:16 UTC
Description of problem:
I'm running evolution-3.0.2-2.fc15.x86_64 with evolution-mapi-3.0.2-1.fc15.x86_64 to access the company emails. From time to time, the evolution will fail to access the address book on the server with the following error messages:
"This address book cannot be opened. This either means that an incorrect URI was entered, or the server is unreachable.
Detailed error message: Cannot authenticate user: Cannot connect: MapiLogonEx: Failed to login into the server"
While I'm having issue with address book, I still can send and receive mails.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
[awang@mars ~]$ more /etc/redhat-release
Fedora release 15 (Lovelock)
[awang@mars ~]$ rpm -qa | grep evo
evolution-NetworkManager-3.0.2-2.fc15.x86_64
evolution-mapi-3.0.2-1.fc15.x86_64
evolution-3.0.2-2.fc15.x86_64
evolution-help-3.0.2-2.fc15.noarch
evolution-data-server-3.0.2-1.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
Just keep using Evolution and randomly I will receive the error when I try to access the address book.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Access the emails.
2. Click on the "Contacts" button.
3. Select the address book, either "Contacts" or "Global Address List".

Actual results:
I will receive the error described above.

Expected results:
Find the people.

Thanks for a bug report. This got discussed recently upstream, in bug [1], and it showed up that the libmapi doesn't close connection properly, and lefts them opened even it is asked to logoff, thus the exchange server rejects any new connections afterwards. There exists a fix for it in openchange. A workaround is to close the e-addressbook-factory, but it cannot be called even a temporary solution.
