Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
Found a couple of minor typos:
Chapter: Troubleshooting
String: This section provides an example of recovering from a situation where one leg of an LVM mirrored volume fails because the underlying device for a
physical volume goes down an the <literal>mirror_log_fault_policy</literal>
parameter is set to <literal>remove</literal>, requiring that you manually
rebuild the mirror. For information on setting the
<literal>mirror_log_fault_policy</literal> parameter, refer to <xref linkend=
\"mirrorrecover\" />.
Typo: "an" should be "and"
Chapter: Root_Swap_App
String: <emphasis> <application> Root on LVM requires an <literal>initrd</literal> image that activates the root logical volume. If a kernel is upgraded without building the ncessary <literal>initrd</literal> image, that kernel will be unbootable. Newer distributions support lvm in their <command>mkinitrd</command> scripts as well as their packaged <literal>initrd</literal> images, so this becomes less of an issue over time. </application> </emphasis>
Typo: "ncessary" should be "necessary"

Additional info:
I have fixed the typo in the troubleshooting section in my current working draft, and I will move this bug to ON_QA when I next build the document.
But I'm confused about the second typo -- there is no Root_Swap_App chapter in RHEL 6.1. This was a placeholder chapter in an early draft and was never part of the released document. The placeholder remains in the RHEL 5 repository (although it is not in the published book), but it is not in the RHEL 6 repository so I don't know where this came from.
Moving to MODIFIED since I have fixed the only typo that actually appears in the public document.
I have removed the Root_Swap_App chapter from the current svn repository for RHEL 5.
