Description of problem: When using Firefox on a system with network home dir, Firefox hangs periodically because of its extensive use of sqlite-files. According to http://www.sqlite.org/whentouse.html sqlite should not be used in such situations. Is there a possibility to pack a firefox that don't use sqlite? This is a problem on other systems too, not only Fedora 14. E.g. Fedora 15, RHEL 4/5/6, Windows. Regards Bjørge
The NFS is not recommended only for concurrent access which is not this case. The firefox profile is unique for each user and is not shared, right? Can you please try official upstream binary from mozilla? It's here: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/
Correct. This is not a shared nfs area. It is used by one user at one computer. I will ask my former coworkers to try the upstream firefox. Bjørge
Anyway, we can't ship firefox without sqlite.
