Hi Michael,
Could you help to check the screen shot of the error message? Thanks.

Comment 6 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-07-26 19:52:33 UTC
It appears the fast user switching applet is crashing. Can you use abrt to get a backtrace from the crash?

Hi Sir,
Please help to check the attached log file. If this is not log file you want, please let me know. Thanks.

Comment 8 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-08-30 21:30:35 UTC
That is the correct log, but it's missing key information.

Would you mind installing debuginfo packages for glib, gnome-panel, and gdm ?

Comment 9 wayneh 2011-09-01 10:13:26 UTC
Hi Sir,
Would you please provide more info about the debuginfo packages for glib, gnome-panel, and gdm? Where should I get the tool? Thanks in advance.

You can get the debuginfo packages from a debuginfo channel in RHN. The package names are

gnome-panel-debuginfo gdm-debuginfo and glib2-debuginfo

Comment 12 wayneh 2011-09-15 10:55:29 UTC
Hi Sir,
I installed the three packages gnome-panel-debuginfo,gdm-debuginfo and glib2-debuginfo.

Is there is a manual about how to use the debug tool? I am not sure how to you use them? Would you please share the info with me? Thanks in advance.

Comment 15 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-09-19 16:32:21 UTC
Thank you for the provided backtrace. It is exactly what I needed.

Comment 16 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-09-19 16:33:39 UTC
I believe there have been fixes upstream (possibly in the accounts service fork of this code) for this particular problem. It should be possible to backport a fix.

Comment 17 wayneh 2011-09-29 09:26:05 UTC
Hi Sir,
Could you please me know if you need other info of this issue to check further? Thanks.

Comment 18 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-09-30 21:54:00 UTC
No, we're all set. Thank you.

Comment 19 wayneh 2011-10-13 07:18:05 UTC
Hi Sir,
Would you kindly help to provide the latest status? Is it a Applet issue in RHEL? Thanks.

Comment 20 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-10-13 14:53:12 UTC
Hi,

There are no status updates at this time. The problem is a known issue with fixes upstream that can be backported. I have proposed those fixes go into a future synchronous update. My proposal will be evaluated and weighed against other pending issues and available quality assurance capacity during the next planning period.

Comment 21 wayneh 2011-10-27 03:13:47 UTC
Hi Sir,
Would you please help to check if this fix will be available in RHEL6.2? Thanks.

Comment 22 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-10-27 14:18:48 UTC
This fix will not be available in RHEL 6.2.
