Description of problem: after clean system installation via Beaker I've ended with nautilus with open in terminal menu item in right click menu but I have no gnome-terminal installed so it fails silently .. just nothing happens Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): nautilus-2.28.4-15.el6.i686 nautilus-open-terminal-0.17-3.el6.i686 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. install nautilus-open-terminal w/o gnome-terminal being installed 2. right click on desktop 3. click open in terminal Actual results: nothing Expected results: terminal should be opened Additional info:
nautilus-open-terminal doesn't actually depend on having gnome-terminal installed, it could spawn other terminal commands but let's assume you had none of them installed. Still, it would be good to require at least one terminal emulator, let's go for hard Require dependency on gnome-terminal.
Technical note added. If any revisions are required, please edit the "Technical Notes" field accordingly. All revisions will be proofread by the Engineering Content Services team. New Contents: Cause: no terminal application was installed Consequence: nautilus-open-terminal failed to launch a terminal Fix: gnome-terminal package has been set as hard dependency Result: at least one terminal application is guaranteed to be available
