Description John Griffiths 2011-06-24 19:56:20 UTC
Description of problem:
Editing profile to change the default "Shell" profile to use other than Linux colors results in a new "Shell" profile being created at the next log in and the newly created Shell profile with Linux colors being used instead of the one that was edited.

Adding a new profile using colors other than Linux colors and naming it something different and making it default results in the "Shell" profile being set as default at the next log in and the Shell profile with Linux colors being used instead of the one that was set as default during the last session when new tabs are created.

Checking that profile with other than Linux colors be in the menu is OK for the session, but at the next log in, the menu reverts to the Shell profile with the Linux colors and the profile with other than Linux colors no long being in the menu.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kdebase-4.6.3-1.fc15.i686

How reproducible:
Alwasy

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit the Shell profile to use "Black on Random Light"
2. Log out and back in.
3. konsole that was open has proper color.
4. Open new tab. New tab is created with Linux colors.
5. Check Settings -> Configure Profiles
There is now another Shell profile that has Linux colors and is the default.
6. Rename the profile that is using "Black on Random Light" to something other than Shell and make it the default. Check to put in menu.
7. Log out and back in.
8. Open new tab. New tab is created with Linux colors.
9. Check Settings -> Configure Profiles
The profile that was named and set to default is not checked to be in menu and is no longer the default.

Actual results:
See above.

Expected results:
The edited Shell should retain its color selection and not be overridden by a new default Shell with Linux colors. When a new profile is created and selected to be put in the menu, it should remain in the menu. If there is only one profile, it should be used to create tabs no matter what the color selection is.

Comment 1 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 19:00:54 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
