Description of problem: KDE doesn't respond to pressing the power button when configured to do so. I tested both a laptop and a desktop with KDE configured to open the Leave menu and initiate a shutdown immediately, and it does nothing on either machine. These machines shutdown just fine with the power button in runlevel 3. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.6.3-1.fc15 How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure Power management in KDE System Settings to perform action when power button is pressed. 2. Press the power button. Actual results: Nothing happens. Expected results: The configured action is performed (e.g. shutdown).
I'm experiencing something similiar: Difference from above report: Hardware: Dell Inspiron n5010 Description of Problem: Configure KDE to Prompt 'logout dialog' on power button press. After a reboot, if I push the power button nothing happens for 20-40 seconds. The mouse is still responsive but nothing is active on the KDE desktop. IE Icon's don't highlight. Menu's are unresponsive. After 20-40 seconds most of the actions I initiated take place, IE the mouse actions are 'cached' and then processed. The system seems fine at this point, if I push the power button again then the expected dialog pops up 'logout dialog'. At this point everything works as expected. If there's any further information I can provide let me know, I'd be happy to investigate further. FYI, this same thing seems to happen on my Dell XPSm1330..
Wanted to add the following: 1) If I push the power button and leave the machine alone, the power dialog does eventually appear. I'm assuming that when it doesn't appear it's because I've hit the escape or done something unfocus the power dialog. 2) I get the following entry in the messages log: < Jun 27 19:56:09 n5010 kernel: [ 220.774367] iwlagn 0000:12:00.0: Aggregation not enabled for tid 6 because load = 2 I have no idea if this is related, but it appears to be somewhat consistent.
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX. (Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.) Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
