Created attachment 510437 [details] Photo shot of the screen after the oops I am resintalling Fedora 15 on a new 640Gb hard disk and getting a kernel panic at the "installing bootloader" stage of the installer. The machine is a Sony VAIO VGN-BZ31VT and it seems it's EFI based so it wants to install in CPT Mode (whereas the original 500Gb disk is used in BIOS/MBR mode) If it can make any difference, this was a netinstall
Kernel panics generally indicate kernel bugs.
EFI is unsupported due to many bugs in vendor implementations that need to be worked around. Either boot the system with the "noefi" kernel option or disable EFI in the system BIOS settings. (Fedora 16 should fully support EFI.)
