Pidgin 2.9 was recently released to adress at least a security update to prevent remote DoS attacks (http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2011-2485).

* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:

as soon as you are able to.
