Screenshot of the issue

Description of problem:
The bar at the top of the GNOME Shell can obstruct pop-up menus, making the first option unreadable.

This is a particular issue on screens around 800 pixels high.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gtk3-3.0.11-1.fc15.x86_64
nautilus-3.0.2-1.fc15.x86_64
gnome-shell-3.0.2-4.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a screen resolution of around 800 pixels high.
2. Open a Nautilus window, and move it so an icon is just below half way up the screen.
3. Right click on the icon.

Actual results:
First menu option is hidden or partially obstructed.

Expected results:
Menu appears entirely below the top panel.

There seems to be quite a bit of activity on this upstream at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=633620 .

Comment 3 James 2012-05-08 22:43:34 UTC
Appears to be fixed in g-s 3.4 series in Fedora 17. Closing.
