Description daryl herzmann 2011-06-30 13:00:57 UTC
Hi,

I've noticed that console-kit-daemon has a huge VSZ memory allocation on RHEL6. Searching around, I find this exact issue reported against Fedora.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=473547

figured I would file it against RHEL6 as well.

root 2241 0.0 0.0 4113856 588 ? Sl May25 0:00 /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon --no-daemon

thanks!
  daryl

This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated
in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to
address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to
ask your support representative to propose this request, if
appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat
Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an
exception in the current release, please ask your support
representative.

Comment 3 daryl herzmann 2013-08-07 17:24:26 UTC
Can this be closed as invalid or something? In RHEL6.4 it is:

root 3560 0.0 0.0 2084420 3456 ? Sl 07:04 0:00 /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon --no-daemon

Comment 4 Michal Sekletar 2015-10-14 13:24:11 UTC
On RHEL-6.7 ConsoleKit has around 3MB of resident memory. This is perfectly reasonable.
