Description of problem: I've searched Fedora and Clamav and I can't find anything resembling a real documentation of "how to properly set up clamav on a linux system" (let alone F14). It all seems to be look at man pages and the actual putting it together is either magic or "of course you know what to do so we don't have to tell". I can't find anything on Clamav site to tell me how to get such unless I am prepared to join user-forum ... and I don't feel I should have to do that just to get a basic 101 on how to properly setup auto-updates on freshclam and proper means to auto-scan with clamscan. The only reason I am submitting this to Fedora is the complete lack of anything on Clamav site. The only bugs they seem to accept are virus files they didn't pick up. I even emailed the lead of the project and got no response (I really tried to avoid submitting a Fedora Clamav bug) Can't really find anything on the web beyond various folk's home-brew solutions which I have managed to create something that works ... but it really feels wrong and hacky. Any help appreciated ... and the actual bug is that clamav (on their own or through Fedora) needs a robust how-to doc which is highly visible to someone who wants to try them out. I just found a link to a pdf for 0.97.3 ... I am pretty certain this is what I was hoping for (or at least in that direction). It looks like its way more than a vanilla user needs (I serious doubt whether I will be compiling the package). It has good stuff on different ways to run which I need to understand. Would have been nice to have the man pages for the various commands as appendices (and maybe a bit more fleshed out ... or at least links to find out more about the particular options that a vanilla user could use to determine what options to have / not have. But I am glad this pdf is out there ... many thanks, Paul
