Description of problem:
etckeeper update overwrites existing /etc/cron.daily/etckeeper

It would be nice to leave the original /etc/cron.daily/etckeeper unchanged and
have the updates in /etc/cron.daily/etckeeper.rpmsave.

/etc/cron.daily/etckeeper could easily be marked as %config(noreplace), but in fact it is not meant as a config file. 

I am tempted to close this bug as wontfix, unless you can give me good reasons why you have to change that (executable) file.

I agree with you, its not a config file, but we want to redirect the stdout (and stderr)
of /etc/cron.daily/etckeeper to the specific administrator email-addresses.  

As /etc/cron.daily/etckeeper file did not change (afaik) in the last releases, we think
it is a good candidate for %config(noreplace).

We found a solution for our customized cronjob, and i will close the Bug with NOTABUG.
