Description of problem: NetworkManager fails to set up my VPN to work. 'vpnc' works fine Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): NetworkManager-0.8.9997-5.git20110702.fc15.x86_64 NetworkManager-vpnc-0.8.999-2.fc15.x86_64 avahi-0.6.30-3.fc15.x86_64 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. This problem is apparently fixed as of: NetworkManagtworkManager-0.9.0-1.fc15.x86_64 or perhaps earlier. Not sure if the problem was fixed in NetworkManager, or if I fixed it by upgrading the ROM image in my WiFi accesspoint (D-Link DIR-655 to release dir655_FW_135NA).
Exactly the same happens on F14 with: NetworkManager-0.8.4-2.git20110622.fc14.i686 NetworkManager-vpnc-0.8.1-1.fc14.i686 The problem is definitely not in network hardware components because I can connect with my netbook running F15. I can also connect with my laptop running F14-x86_64 (cannot specify exact versions of packages right now). When I try to connect with vpnc command itself, it says after typing password: vpnc: Error binding to source port. Try '--local-port 0' Failed to bind to 0.0.0.0:500: Address already in use Using '--local-port 0' solves the problem and I can connect.
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14.
