Description Adam Jackson 2011-07-14 15:16:39 UTC
Like, entirely. Neither of my two VGA panels lights up, the Dell 2005FPW claims it's in "power save mode" so DPMS confusion maybe.

Comment 2 Adam Jackson 2011-07-19 20:18:06 UTC
Irritatingly this seems to be true of all prior RHEL6 releases, and F15. This may be model-specific (Toshiba Tecra A8). So, not a regression, but still pretty unpleasant.

Comment 4 Adam Jackson 2011-09-26 16:51:13 UTC
Oddly there's a BIOS setting that has some effect. If the "boot display" is set to Auto it's as above. If set to "LCD + RGB", VGA works as expected.

This doesn't appear to be a regression from previous driver behaviour, as far as I've been able to find, but it's still pretty annoying, and implies there's some magic bit of clock setup or similar that we're not doing on this machine.

Comment 5 Adam Jackson 2011-10-12 19:56:10 UTC
Moving to 6.3 radar, not a regression and not expecting to find a fix soon.

Comment 7 Suzanne Logcher 2012-02-14 23:11:00 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated
in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to
address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to
ask your support representative to propose this request, if
appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat
Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an
exception in the current release, please ask your support
representative.

Comment 8 Adam Jackson 2012-03-12 17:55:31 UTC
Moved to 6.4.

Comment 9 Adam Jackson 2012-04-20 18:18:48 UTC
Moving this to rawhide. This is a rare case (re comment #4) and it's still broken upstream anyway. This may or may not be pulled in by a future RHEL DRM rebase.

Comment 10 Phil 2012-10-17 13:36:32 UTC
I have an A8 too and it still exists in F17.

Comment 11 Fedora End Of Life 2013-04-03 13:32:59 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 19 development cycle.
Changing version to '19'.

(As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 19 development
cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 19 End Of Life. Thank you.)

Comment 12 Fedora End Of Life 2015-01-09 16:43:06 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 19 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 19. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now this bug will
be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '19'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 19 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 13 Fedora End Of Life 2015-02-17 13:48:27 UTC
Fedora 19 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-01-06. Fedora 19 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
