Description Stefan Schulze Frielinghaus 2011-07-24 11:34:50 UTC
Description of problem:
The password prompt for encrypted partitions times out after about 60 seconds, i.e. if you boot your PC you will see the typical password prompt for the encrypted partition and if you wait for about 60 seconds the following comes up:

nctions
Welcome to emergency mode. Use "systemctl default" or ^D to activate default mode.
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):

This is somehow unexpected. For example, if you boot up your PC in the morning, then leaving for a coffee and come back you still would expect the password prompt not such an emergency message. Of couse you can still continue by pressing Control-D, then typing in the password and the partition gets unlocked but it is still somehow strange (especially to non technical people).

If you need anything more, just let me know.

Regards,
Stefan
