Description of problem: Using: boinc-client-6.10.58-3.r22930svn.fc15.x86_64 boinc-manager-6.10.58-3.r22930svn.fc15.x86_64 boinc-manager does not seem to retain the password for localhost from /var/lib/boinc/gui_rpc_auth.cfg Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): boinc-client-6.10.58-3.r22930svn.fc15.x86_64 boinc-manager-6.10.58-3.r22930svn.fc15.x86_64 2.6.38.8-35.fc15.x86_64 How reproducible: Open boinc-manger, connect to localhost with password in /var/lib/boinc/gui_rpc_auth.cfg, then close the manager and re-open, you will have to re-enter the password Actual results: Every start of boinc-manager requires the localhost password to connect... Expected results: I have it running on i386 F15 w/o any problems, and has worked on both platforms in F14 and earlier (don't recall how far back, but several versions) Additional info: Not sure where this information is stored, or i would edit it as root to make it global. My users are NOT a part of the boinc group on any machines, working or not.. Historically, i had only enter the localhost password 1 time.
There is no such feature in BOINC manager, either it can open the file or not. (It has been even requested and -- rightly -- denied: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/ticket/470)
