Description Bill Burns 2011-07-25 16:59:25 UTC
From meeting held on Jul 25, 2011:

* Profiles based on application (database, SAP, and etc..)
      * perhaps proposed for RHEL6.3
      * For SAS workload, on baremetal, need to provide a profile to turn off THP workload. [AI#4: pknirsch: for RHEL6.?/RHEL7]
          * Bmarson will test and find out the tuning of the frequency to adjust the need for the THP.
          * host is backed with hugetlbfs, and inside of the host, the guest can use THP.

Comment 3 RHEL Program Management 2012-09-07 05:34:28 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated
in the current release, Red Hat is unable to address this
request at this time.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate, in the next release of
Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 4 Jaroslav Škarvada 2012-09-20 12:40:47 UTC
Hi Bill,

could you provide more details? We need the list of application/scenarios that is needed to support together with the proposed tunings to be able to add the profiles.

Comment 6 Bill Burns 2012-09-28 17:33:10 UTC
Absolutely the correct move to slide this out. Not much progress on the front of having specific profiles for specific applications.

Comment 7 RHEL Program Management 2013-10-14 05:15:57 UTC
This request was not resolved in time for the current release.
Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in
the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 9 Jaroslav Škarvada 2016-07-27 22:54:27 UTC
Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 6 is entering the Production 2 phase of its lifetime and this bug doesn't meet the criteria for it, i.e. only high severity issues will be fixed. Please see https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/ for further information.
