From meeting held on Jul 25, 2011: * Profiles based on application (database, SAP, and etc..) * perhaps proposed for RHEL6.3 * For SAS workload, on baremetal, need to provide a profile to turn off THP workload. [AI#4: pknirsch: for RHEL6.?/RHEL7] * Bmarson will test and find out the tuning of the frequency to adjust the need for the THP. * host is backed with hugetlbfs, and inside of the host, the guest can use THP.

Hi Bill, could you provide more details? We need the list of application/scenarios that is needed to support together with the proposed tunings to be able to add the profiles.
Absolutely the correct move to slide this out. Not much progress on the front of having specific profiles for specific applications.
