Description of problem: Here is an example: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=3230531 If you look at root.log and build.log: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=3230531&name=root.log http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=3230531&name=build.log Notice that root installation has failed. Despite this, mock (or koji?) didn't stop, but kept on going with the build, which was obviously bound to fail since none of the packages it needed were installed. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mock 1.1.8 installed at koji.fedoraproject.org How reproducible: 100%

Is this still an issue with 1.1.12?
No idea. mock version on koji.fedoraproject.org is still at 1.1.8.
Encountered this same bug in the armv7 hardfloat bootstrap, and is fixed by yum-utils-1.1.31-2. See yum-utils Bug #716267
Since this seems to be a yum-utils issue, I'm closing it as a mock bug
