Description of problem: Apparently this checkbox doesn't reflect anything. NM doesn't remember that it has been previously checked on, and even when checked on again, it disables itself in couple of seconds. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have any effect on the functionality itself, because even when checked off, the main NM menu offers the connection Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): NetworkManager-0.8.1-9.el6_1.1 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1.insert USB GSM mobile thing 2.wait 3.wait (does it have to take so long, it seems to be much much faster on Mac OS X) 4.icon of the URB Flash drive (this device is both) shows up on desktop indicates the ability of the hardware 5.right-click NM icon Actual results: "Enable Mobile Broadband" is checked off (although it is not the first time this gadget is used), when renabled it checks off again Expected results: "Enable Mobile Broadband" is checked on, because it was used previously Additional info: when manually checking on "Enable Mobile Broadband" .. it is checked off immediately.

Since RHEL 6.2 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as exception or blocker. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Could be a bug in ModemManager, but for some reason the modem is not able to be enabled (PIN code?) and thus it's disabled again. If we get the requested information we could proceed.
