From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.78 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.4.18-12.4 i686) Description of problem: When I use the openoffice RPM at RawHide openoffice-1.0.1-4.i386.rpm I can not get mathematical symbols to render on screen. Generated postscript output look ok, though. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.0.1-4 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openoffice-1.0.1-4 2. oomath 3. Enter the expression: a = b 3b. or alternatively: sum from {i=0} to {N} a_{i} Actual Results: The letters a and b show up, but no mathematical symbols such as the "equal" sign or the "sum" sign. Additional info: Installing OpenOffice from the OpenOffice.org web site worked just fine. So it is either a missing pre-requisite that is not listed in the RPM that I have missed (but I can not think of one) or something wrong in the RPM. This is the working version I got from OpenOffice.org: ls -l OOo_1.0.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz -rw-rw-r-- 1 smeds smeds 74286597 Aug 14 21:10 OOo_1.0.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz md5sum OOo_1.0.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz e03cb9573ff176b47fb2101732104d83 OOo_1.0.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz

Well, problem seem to to do with XFree86 or fonts. I downloaded -67.5 from mharris and that renders all the mathematical symbols in openoffice perfectly. This morning I got 67.6 which does not! What is the difference?
It is actually broken OpenSymbol TTF font included in OpenOffice.org. openoffice-1.0.1-5 package has a tiny program to fix it up, please check that out.
