Description of problem: when running desktop-effects or compiz-gtk --replace the compiz process is killed by SIGABRT. See atached log. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-13.20110719gitde9d1ba.el6.x86_64 mesa-libGL-devel-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-demos-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-libGLU-devel-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-libOSMesa-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-libOSMesa-devel-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-libGLU-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-dri-drivers-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-debuginfo-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 mesa-libGL-7.11-0.6.el6.x86_64 libdrm-2.4.25-1.el6.x86_64 compiz-0.8.2-24.el6.x86_64 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. just run desktop-effects and enable compiz or compiz-gtk --replace 2. 3. Actual results: Get windows without decoration. Expected results: compiz should work Additional info: As far as I know works well on intel.
Got similar issue with Intel (Huron River). Window decorations appear but after few minutes compiz fall back to metacity.
We don't have a 3D driver for NVIDIA chipsets in RHEL at all, I don't expect compiz should die with a SIGABRT in any case. Can you trap the backtrace for the SIGABRT with gdb and paste it here?
Works for me with: compiz-0.8.2-24.el6.x86_64 xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-13.20110719gitde9d1ba.el6.x86_64 libdrm-2.4.25-1.el6.x86_64 libdrm-2.4.25-1.el6.i686 xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.10.4-3.el6.x86_64 Closing as CURRENTRELEASE. Feel free to reopen if needed.
