a missing icon
Description of problem:
Yes, like the summary say:
have a look at the scrrenshot-> there is only a package icon and not a virt-manager one.

2.see the run-popup after installation
I see an icon under gnome - perhaps it is a KDE issue?
No; look at the screenshot; just after the installation with packagekit there is a popup that offer the start of new installed software. In this popup there is no virt-manager icon, there is only the standard package icon(right half of the picture).
The gnome menues are quite o,k.
Fix already upstream:
virt-manager-0.9.0-6.fc16 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 16.
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 16 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing virt-manager-0.9.0-6.fc16'
as soon as you are able to.
