Description of problem: On my ThinkPad T500 native res. of 1680x1050 works when using vesa. But it doesn't work with resolution 1024x768 or less - screen is garbage. HW: T500 (2241B48) Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07) Supported res.: $ xrandr -q xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1680 x 1050, maximum 1680 x 1050 default connected 1680x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm 1680x1050 0.0* 1280x1024 0.0 1024x768 0.0 800x600 0.0 640x480 0.0 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xorg-x11-drv-vesa-2.3.0-2.el6 xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.10.4-3.el6 kernel-2.6.32-199.el6 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot with nomodeset and rdblacklist=intel 2. wait until X session starts 3. change resolution to 1024x768 Actual results: garbage screen Expected results: lower then native resolution is applied. Additional info: I don't use any manual xorg.conf

Moving to 6.3 radar, no further updates to the vesa driver are planned for 6.2 except to correct regressions. If this scenario worked in 6.1, please move this back to 6.2.
Same issue is in 6.1 with xorg-x11-drv-vesa-2.3.0-1.el6, it is not a regression.
