On minimal installation(F16 Beta RC4 using netinstall) with added @base, @base-x, @fonts, @lxde-desktop package groups, default LXDE-session has no icons. See screenshot attached. If i install lxde-icon-theme, they appear. Could you add lxde-icon-theme package to @lxde-desktop group?
It is already in the group, it's just not installed by default, see http://git.fedorahosted.org/git?p=comps.git;a=blob;f=comps-f16.xml.in;h=be87539757e982d7e0cc3d8e7fb414db9b240034;hb=HEAD#l4474 This should not cause the problem you are seeing as we use the fedora-icon-theme by default. Could you attach the screenshot you were speaking of? I wonder why nobody reported this problem at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Fedora_16_Beta_RC2_Desktop
Created attachment 525985 [details] Screenshot with missing icons. Sorry, forgot the main part.
As I show on the screenshot, the only theme installed by default is hicolor-icon-theme. So there is no icon for? for example, pcmanfm.
In the past the lxde-common package had a dependency on fedora-icon-theme but I had to remove it because "fedora-" is not generic, so this would not work on say EPEL. I forgot to add the package to the LXDE group in comps instead. I will do this once I am home (still traveling).
Sorry it took so long. I have just made the necessary commit, see http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=comps.git;a=commit;h=8c680a1b1e
