Description of problem:
Auto detects the on-board sound on my 8K3A+ correctly as...
Vendor: Via Technologies
Model: VT8233 AC97 audio controller
Module: via82cxxx_audio

dispite corect idenification of my on-board sound it still does not work. I am
using 6 channel via (realtek) sound but can confirm the same results with an
8K3A with 2 channel via (realtek) sound.

This appears to be a driver issue.

Seems to be working well in the errata and RH9 kernels. Do you still have problems ?

Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of
the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem
persists.

The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, 
and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in
