Description amturnip 2011-10-09 21:49:19 UTC
Description of problem:

bcfg2 reports an IndexError when performing a step that is prescribed in the Quickstart tutorial (http://docs.bcfg2.org/quickstart/).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

# rpm -q bcfg2 bcfg2-server
bcfg2-1.1.3-1.fc15.noarch
bcfg2-server-1.1.3-1.fc15.noarch

How reproducible:

The error message is consistent.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.yum install bcfg2 bcfg2-server
2.bcfg2-admin init
3.accept all the default responses
4.service bcfg2-server start
5.bcfg2 -q -v -n

Actual results:
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Loaded tool drivers:
 Action Chkconfig POSIX YUMng
Chkconfig.Inventory() call failed:

Expected results:

Something like the following, which appears at the [...] mark in the above "Actual results" readout. I cannot say whether this output is in fact correct or not, but I suppose that the number 1655 might exclude things that could have been learned from chkconfig.

Phase: initial
Correct entries:	0
Incorrect entries:	0
Total managed entries:	0
Unmanaged entries:	1655

Comment 1 amturnip 2011-10-09 22:00:07 UTC
Adding the -d option apparently makes bcfg2 show what it got back from chkconfig.

> /sbin/chkconfig --list|grep :on
<
< Note: This output shows SysV services only and does not include native
< systemd services. SysV configuration data might be overridden by native
< systemd configuration.
<
< abrt-ccpp 0:off	1:off	2:off	3:on	4:off	5:on	6:off
< abrt-oops 0:off	1:off	2:off	3:on	4:off	5:on	6:off
< auditd 0:off	1:off	2:on	3:on	4:on	5:on	6:off

Maybe that prefatory "Note", which contains two blank lines, is too much for Chkconfig.py.

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 16:27:08 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
