Description of problem: Error: No Package found for fftw3-devel Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): libofa-0.9.3-17.fc15 Steps to Reproduce: 1. koji build --scratch f17 'git://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/libofa?#HEAD' Actual results: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=3419282&name=root.log
Looks like a fftw3 bug, it no longer Provides: fftw3-devel Which will affect the following packages (which includes libofa): $ sudo repoquery --repoid=rawhide-source --archlist=src --whatrequires fftw3-devel fmit-0:0.99.2-1.fc16.src gimp-fourier-plugin-0:0.3.2-5.fc15.src ladspa-swh-plugins-0:0.4.15-17.fc15.src liblastfm-0:0.3.3-3.fc15.src libofa-0:0.9.3-17.fc15.src lmms-0:0.4.11-1.fc16.src mathmap-0:1.3.5-2.fc15.src openCOLLADA-0:0-5.svn838.fc16.src siril-0:0.8-10.fc15.src zynaddsubfx-0:2.4.1-3.fc16.src I'll take care of fixing this, looks like an EASYFIX.
%changelog * Mon Oct 10 2011 Rex Dieter <rdieter> 3.3-3 - -devel: Provides: fftw3-devel (#744758) - -static: Provides: fftw3-static - drop %%_isa from Obsoletes
... why should it Provides: fftw3? IMHO libofa should be fixed to BR: fftw-devel instead.
* It's been there for a long time * many packages still use it * it makes it clear which version of fftw is in use * the compatibility minimizes diffs between fedora/epel * (editorial comment: I still don't necessarily agree with the rename fftw3 -> fftw way back when, but what's done is done). Now, if you want to encourage migration away from from using fftw3-devel, fine, but please do handle that separately without simply surprising everyone.
Oh, meant to continue my last thought, that moving away from fftw3-devel is better targeted for f17+/rawhide, but changing this in released versions of fedora (and needlessly inducing dependent packages to suddenly FTBFS) is unwelcome.
Right; that was a mishap - I had been thinking about fully versioned depencies (-devel packages need to require the library package of the same architecture).
