Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rpm -qi system-config-printer
Version: 1.3.7
Release 1.fc16

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect printer, let drivers install
2. Open browser or file
3. Try to print

Actual results:
Job spools, but printer does nothing. Status remains idle

Expected results:
Job spools and prints

Additional info:
Detected as CLP-310
Make and Model under settings says "Generic text-only printer", no samsung driver available to change to. Also doesn't report ink/toner level. Will wait to file seperate bug until we determine if the driver is wrong.

Please install the "foomatic" package, and then try changing the driver to:

Make: Samsung
Model: CLP-350
Driver: Samsung CLP-350 Foomatic/pxlcolor

Does that driver have any success? I'm afraid that I'm not sure what other driver would work.

Comment 2 Cybertimber2011 2011-10-13 22:39:34 UTC
Oddly yea, as soon as I installed that package the CLP-350 driver was the one "(recommended)"

But... no dice.. not with the Foomatic/pxlcolor driver. Nothing prints (well, I tried to print the test page).

Switched to Foomatic/postscript and the light on the printer at least blinks, but doesn't actually produce anything.

Comment 3 Tim Waugh 2011-10-14 09:13:20 UTC
Then there seems to be no driver for this printer available in Fedora.

You may be able to obtain a driver from Samsung.
