Description of problem: Previous versions of the docs included a screen-shot of the install menu (Note: F14 install doc shows graphic of F13 beta screen!) At this screen, directions are present to start the install ("hit enter") to to change options ("hit tab"). However, many of the boot options only work from the "boot:" prompt, and neither the installer menu, nor the install-guide explain how to get to that prompt. Subsequent sections of the install-guide assume the reader is at this "boot:" prompt. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Read install-guide 2. 3. Actual results: No mention of reaching the "boot:" prompt Expected results: "Note: To exit the installer menu, to reach the "boot:" prompt, hit escape." Additional info: Perhaps the installer menu should include that info too, but that's probably a separate bug report.
Thanks, Wayne. The screenshot and list of options have been updated for the F16 guide, and explanations of the boot prompt can be found at the end of section 7.1.1 and the start of section 7.1.3. The draft can be viewed at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Draft_Documentation/0.1/html/Installation_Guide/index.html Cheers, Jack
Removing myself for these bug components as I'm either no longer involved in that aspect of the project, or no longer care to watch this particular bug. Sorry if you are caught in a maelstrom of bug changes as a result!
