Description Namita Soman 2011-10-13 18:52:37 UTC
Description of problem:
In Netscape/Firefox, certificate serial number is dipslayed in hex, but when viewing cert details in IPA UI, the Serial number is in decimal

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ipa-server-2.1.2-2.el6.x86_64

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Services - click on http/<servername>
2. View cert
3. Serial number is in decimal
4. Using Firefox, view the same cert, and the cert serial number is in hex

Actual results:
Cert serial number in UI and browser are in different notations

they should use same notation

Comment 3 Rob Crittenden 2011-10-14 21:27:31 UTC
I think we should discuss with CS team for best practices. I think as long as it is clear what type of data it is that is enough.

Comment 4 Dmitri Pal 2012-01-05 23:27:05 UTC
Why this is an RFE?

Comment 5 Namita Soman 2012-02-06 14:08:18 UTC
This came up during the SA training, and during the discussion, it was suggested as an RFE

Comment 6 Rob Crittenden 2012-03-15 01:51:57 UTC
fixed upstream.

What you'll see is a separate attribute on output with the value in hex.

This will appear in hosts, services and on the cli in the cert commands that display serial number (cert-request, cert-show and cert-revoke).
