SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/updatedb from 'read' accesses on the directory lldpad. ***** Plugin catchall_labels (83.8 confidence) suggests ******************** If you want to allow updatedb to have read access on the lldpad directory Then you need to change the label on lldpad Do # semanage fcontext -a -t FILE_TYPE 'lldpad' where FILE_TYPE is one of the following: textrel_shlib_t, locate_var_lib_t, net_conf_t, inotifyfs_t, var_run_t, file_type, bin_t, cert_t, filesystem_type, locale_t, locate_t, etc_t, proc_t, sysctl_crypto_t, abrt_t, lib_t, root_t, usr_t, device_t, etc_t, net_conf_t, nscd_var_run_t, cert_t, var_lib_t. Then execute: restorecon -v 'lldpad' ***** Plugin catchall (17.1 confidence) suggests *************************** If you believe that updatedb should be allowed read access on the lldpad directory by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep updatedb /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:locate_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 Target Context system_u:object_r:unlabeled_t:s0 Target Objects lldpad [ dir ] Source updatedb Source Path /usr/bin/updatedb Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages mlocate-0.24-1.fc15 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.9.16-39.fc15 Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Permissive Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 2.6.40.6-0.fc15.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Oct 4 00:39:50 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 7 First Seen Wed 14 Sep 2011 08:44:12 AM PDT Last Seen Sat 15 Oct 2011 03:41:37 AM PDT Local ID b25de7f7-0c0b-4b0c-9fc8-4b3af6dfad81 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1318675297.246:384): avc: denied { read } for pid=27887 comm="updatedb" name="lldpad" dev=sda2 ino=19811 scontext=system_u:system_r:locate_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=system_u:object_r:unlabeled_t:s0 tclass=dir type=AVC msg=audit(1318675297.246:384): avc: denied { open } for pid=27887 comm="updatedb" name="lldpad" dev=sda2 ino=19811 scontext=system_u:system_r:locate_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=system_u:object_r:unlabeled_t:s0 tclass=dir type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1318675297.246:384): arch=x86_64 syscall=open success=yes exit=EAGAIN a0=408496 a1=50000 a2=7fff35360520 a3=0 items=0 ppid=27881 pid=27887 auid=0 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=37 comm=updatedb exe=/usr/bin/updatedb subj=system_u:system_r:locate_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 key=(null) Hash: updatedb,locate_t,unlabeled_t,dir,read audit2allow #============= locate_t ============== allow locate_t unlabeled_t:dir { read open }; audit2allow -R #============= locate_t ============== allow locate_t unlabeled_t:dir { read open };
Were you updating? You probably need to run # restorecon -R -v /var/lib/lldpad
