Description of problem: The file /etc/logrotate.d/ceph contains this: postrotate invoke-rc.d ceph reload >/dev/null || service ceph reload >/dev/null endscript The result is that every day I get email from logrotate telling me that the execution of invoke-rc.d failed. Since that is a Debian tool, can we please just remove that part of the line? That is, can you patch the logrotate script so that part reads: postrotate service ceph reload >/dev/null endscript That will stop the nag emails. Thanks. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ceph-0.31-4.fc17.x86_64 How reproducible: Once per day Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install ceph and logrotate 2. Wait until cron.daily runs 3. Read the nag email Actual results: Logrotate warns every day about a failed execution of invoke-rc.d. Expected results: No warnings. Additional info:
You also want a missingok line in there. I have ceph installed as a dep of qemu (for librados.so.2 and librbd.so.1) but not running and I get: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate: error: stat of /var/log/ceph/*.log failed: No such file or directory Perhaps it also make sense to have a ceph-libs package for such deps?
