Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2012:0962 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE lvm2 bug fix and enhancement update 2012-06-19 21:12:11 UTC

Description David Juran 2011-10-21 13:02:01 UTC
Description of problem:
/etc/lvm/lvm.conf has gotten the new option mirror_segtype_default which can be used to enable the new MD raid backend but if I'm not mistaken, this functionality is labelled as tech-preview in RHEL6.2. Since /etc/lvm/lvm.conf is very well annotated, I think it would be good to include a comment in that file that points out the MD-raid is tech preview

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
lvm2-2.02.87-3

Comment 2 David Juran 2011-10-21 13:49:18 UTC
Discussing this with Jon Brassow, the note about tech preview is probably superflous but a note should be made that MD is incompatible with cluster

Comment 3 RHEL Program Management 2011-10-25 05:48:14 UTC
Since RHEL 6.2 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as
exception or blocker.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the
next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 9 Corey Marthaler 2012-05-09 20:45:24 UTC
Fix verified in the latest lvm.conf.

  # This mirror implementation is not cluster-aware and cannot be
  # used in a shared (active/active) fashion in a cluster.
