Description of problem:
At the Bootscreen, the German letters for "Autodeceting Hardware changes" are 
the "C<" is replaced with the euro sign b, and the first letter is something 
totally different

Perhaps it's UNICODE related locale bits. Similar to problems being reported 
in bug 74706. What does 'locale' output? Perhaps using the none UTF-8 LANG in 
your /etc/sysconfig/i18n will help (work-around). Cheers, -Ali

This should work better in 0.99.9x.
