Description Etsuji Nakai 2011-10-23 04:30:46 UTC
Description of problem:

According to the kernel document:

 http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/scheduler/sched-rt-group.txt

"cpu.rt_period_us/rt_runtime_us" parameters of cgroup is relevant only to realtime scheduling processes.

However, RHEL6 documentation:

 http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html-single/Resource_Management_Guide/index.html#sec-cpu

describes as if it can be applied to normal processes. I suspect this is incorrect.

Comment 3 Etsuji Nakai 2011-10-27 14:26:03 UTC
The correction in the Red Hat internal stage looks good. Thanks.

Comment 4 Martin Prpič 2011-10-27 14:35:10 UTC
Moving to ON_QA. Changes described in comment #2 and applied in Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux-Resource_Management_Guide-6-web-en-US-2-30.el5 and later.

Cheers,
Martin
