Description of problem: gnome 3 session /gnome classic with Compiz session fails to start Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Operating system: Fedora 3.1.0.0-rc10.git0.1.fc16.i686.PAE with fairly fresh yum update. Harwdware: Dell Laptop (Latitude E4300), the problem was _not_ present before upgrading to Fedora 16, i.e., Fedora 15 worked well (and earlier versions) Note: the problem was there also with rc9 and rc8. Symptoms: when requested to login, I have the choice between three X-sessions 1) Gnome 3 2) Classic Gnome with Compiz 3) Fluxbox For 1) or 2), when logging in, the X-session tries to start (i.e., displaying the icons etc), however, display ``flickers'' for some seconds, as if it had trouble to synchronize with the screen refresh rates or similar. Then, the message comes: "Oh no! Somrthig has gone wrong. A problem has occured and the system can't recover. Please log out..." The problem does not occur when using the 3) Fluxbox window manages.
Not a compiz bug as it happens in gnome 3 as well.
ok, thnaks, I filed it as compiz, because "gnome 3 " was not available as category, only specific gnome applications I found. I will try again under some other category.
