Description Jack Reed 2011-10-27 23:35:10 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #713309 +++

Description of problem:

See BZ # 673584

http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/15/html/Installation_Guide/s1-kickstart2-options.html doesn't say anything about this!

In fact, both the "part" and the "logvol" directives need to list the "--label=" option as a valid and usable option. I've just used both in a Fedora 15 kickstart, they work.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Fedora 15

Hi Joshua,

Thanks for reporting this. I've added --label to the list of commands for both 'part' and 'logvol' in the Fedora 16 version of the guide.

You can view the draft at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Draft_Documentation/0.1/html/Installation_Guide/index.html

Cheers,

Jack

Applies to "part" but not "logvol" in this case.

Comment 3 Jack Reed 2011-11-29 01:14:07 UTC
To note the source of this change: Chris Lumens confirmed to me that --label applies to RHEL 5 for the 'part or partition' option.

Removing myself for these bug components as I'm either no longer involved in that aspect of the project, or no longer care to watch this particular bug. Sorry if you are caught in a maelstrom of bug changes as a result!
