Version 0.3 is built for Fedora but it's not available on epel platforms. Could it be updated? If v0.3 is incompatible and thus against epel update policy, then an update to at least v0.2.12 is required. There are some features in v0.2.12 that are not in current v0.2.8 that we need to build certain PDF-docs. Otherwise we get an error "xsl:call-template : template verbatim.boldseq not found" and there's no easy way to work around this limitation (AFAIK).
Also, all other major Linux distros have dblatex 0.3. Being stuck to 0.2.8 in RHEL really prevents us to easily redistribute any application which uses recent features of dblatex (current release is 0.3.2, see http://sourceforge.net/projects/dblatex/files/dblatex/dblatex-0.3.2/). Fedora has 0.3, so it shouldn't be a big deal to also have it available for RHEL.
The "deal" is the EPEL update policy. Being stuck with 0.2.8 is a corollary of sticking with RHEL 5 rather than upgrading to RHEL 6. Is there still any need for upgrading dblatex in EPEL 5? The non-gitty state of affairs of dblatex in fedora-scm does not exactly help forwarding the EPEL 5 branch.
Closing NOTABUG because sticking with an old version of package is a consequence of sticking with RHEL 5.
