Description of problem: When I press the Suspend key (Fn+F1) on my ASUS laptop, nothing happens and gnome-settings-daemon prints the following in my ~/.xsession-errors: (gnome-settings-daemon:1541): media-keys-plugin-WARNING **: couldn't sleep using UPower: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.UPower was not provided by any .service files Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-settings-daemon-3.2.1-3.fc16.i686 gnome-power-manager-3.2.1-1.fc16.i686 How reproducible: Always on my ASUS. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press Fn+F1 on ASUS laptop (Suspend key on other machines?) Actual results: No visible action, above message printed in ~/.xsession-errors. Expected results: Laptop suspends. Additional info: upowerd is running, and /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.UPower.service exists. I can also contact UPower manually via DBus.
Seems like gnome-settings-daemon calls UPower on the dbus session bus. The service is only provided on the system bus.
Ah, it is already fixed upstream: <http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/commit/?id=3b41d8d62ebef1070e4304ad40cf395d12834808>
Fixed in update of gnome-settings-daemon - works correctly now.
