Created attachment 532671 [details] Example of default icon associated to Thunderbird Description of problem: Gnome does not display the usual Thunderbird icon in association with the software. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): thunderbird-7.0.1-1.fc16.x86_64 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora 16 - note that /home/<user> has been kept as was with Fedora 15. 2. Update and install Thunderbird. 3. Look for Thunderbird. Actual results: The associated icon is some sort of default icon, not the usual Thunderbird icon. Expected results: The Thunderbird icon should be displayed instead.
I can confirm this. If I add Thunderbird to my favorites, the correct icon is displayed, but if I open Tb, a new, generic application icon appears.
The problem disappeared when I deleted the thunderbird.desktop file in ~/.local/share/applications
Indeed I cannot reproduce the problem anymore and it looks like I have cleaned up ~/.local/share in the meantime - I can't find ~/.local/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop in my home dir.
Okay, thanks for the info.
