Description of problem: enabled smartd (systemctl enable smartd.service) modified /etc/smartd.conf to explicitly test the drives and e-mail myself when errors occur. Also used -M test to get a test e-mail at bootup. New line: /dev/sda -H -s L/../../7/03 -m myemail@add -M test (where myemail@add is my actual e-mail address. Note that the machine will successfully send e-mails via the 'mail' command) No test e-mail appears when the machine is booted up. This worked in Fedora 14 and earlier. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): smartmontools-5.42-1.fc16.x86_64 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: should get a test e-mail at boot up indicating that smart is on the job. Additional info:
