Description of problem: thunderbird-enigmail-1.3.2-1.fc15.i686 is not compatible to thunderbird-8.0-2.fc15.i686
yum -y downgrade thunderbird thunderbird-enigmail Then, you should add thunderbird, thunderbird-enigmail, and firefox to an exclude list in: /etc/yum.conf Mozilla has been breaking a lot of stuff lately by issuing a new major release every time one of their programmers sneezes, so this will help keep your system stable for a while.
Or packagers could just provide http://www.mozilla-enigmail.org/download/source/enigmail-1.3.3.tar.gz for Thunderbird 8 as well as holding off on pushing updates until things have actually been tested?
Same problem here on Fedora 16 x86_64 : Enigmail stops working and Thunderbird is throwing messages from OpenPGP each time a mail is openened/received/edited. Here is the message : (named OpenPGP) Enigmail: Enigmime service not available To permanenty avoid this alert, either fix the problem or uninstall Enigmail using the OpenPGP -> Preferences menu In French : Enigmail : Le service Enigmime n'est pas disponible" To fix the problem, here is what I did : - uninstalled Enigmail v1.3.2-1.fc16.1 (64bits) from Fedora Fusion Free repository, - then in Thunderbird, I searched for "Enigmail" extension - and installed version 1.3.3 directly into Thunderbird As a result : it works perfectly. Maybe this bug has been forwarded to rpmfusion.org's bugzilla : https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2058 bye for now, Dag
Hi all, running "sudo yum update --enablerepo=rpmfusion-free-updates-testing thunderbird-enigmail" has fixed the issue for me. Regards, Illya
Hi, - Enigmail 1.3.3 has been pushed in updates for Fedora 16 and runs OK, - but it has not been pushed for Fedora 15. By the way Enigmail is NOT a package from Fedora repository but from Fusion repository. So this bug must be reported to https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/ . I created a new bug report here : https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2070 Bye for now, Dag
This bug has been marked as fixed/closed here : https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2070 So please close this bug. Thanks. Dag
