Description of problem: Suspend and Hibernate are not available after installing the LXDE spin of Fedora. These were available 'out-of-the-box' after installing F14/GNOME and F12/KDE. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): n/a How reproducible: Install Fedora LXDE and attempt suspend operation. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora LXDE 2. Click Logout 3. Click Suspend Actual results: Nothing Expected results: System should suspend Additional info: The system is a Dell Latitude E5500.
acpid is not needed and was never part of the LXDE spin, this is handled through uposer. What version are you talking about? If it's F16 I'm afraid that your problem is caused by bug 752827 and you need to run "yum reinstall bash".
Thanks for the response. Adding acpid was a suggestion from a forum posting. Installing it did allow suspend/hibernate operations so I assumed that was the problem. I've since moved to XFCE so unfortunately I can't retest this.
