The smallest reproducer I could quickly setup is trying to update Gnome. I'm not sure where this would be solved best, if clutter or cogl. Starting with clutter:


Transaction Check Error:
  file /usr/lib64/girepository-1.0/Cogl-1.0.typelib from install of cogl-1.8.2-2.fc16.x86_64 conflicts with file from package clutter-1.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64


I can work around this by `yum update clutter' first, which pulls new cogl as a dependency, then it passes. 

The dependencies in the specfile could perhaps be a bit improved to make the upgrade path easier.

I've never had an issue with this and no one else has reported any issues.
