dmesg output after the gnome 3 freezed

Description of problem:

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

`uname -a`

Linux mikolaj 3.1.2-1.fc16.i686 #1 SMP Tue Nov 22 08:56:28 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

How reproducible:
Start X environment login, wait until gnome 3 has started, then login to your account, press ctrl + alt + F8
, then press alt+F1 to return to X11.Gnome 3 is not responding , gnome shell is freezed, however I can move mouse around.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login using gdm ( session gnome 3 )
2. press ctrl + alt + F8
3. press alt + F1

Alternative Steps to Reproduce

1. Perform any operation that involves switching to framebuffer and back to X11 ( such as suspend-to-ram, suspend-to-disk etc.), the bug still occurs.

Actual results:
Window manager freezes ( however mouse pointer is 'movable' )

Expected results:
Window manager should be usable after returning back to X.

Additional info:

Here is message ( full dmesg attached ) that pops up every time I reproduce this bug:

'[drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id'

Comment 1 mikolaj.bugzilla 2011-11-28 17:17:11 UTC
I didnt include the decription for this bug:

Description of problem:

After switching from X11 to console ( ctrl + alt + F8 ) and returning back ( alt + F1 ) window manager freezes and is not responding to any kind of interaction ( however I can move mouse pointer around ).Same thing happens after returning from suspend to ram or suspend to disk.

Comment 2 Dave Airlie 2012-02-12 19:58:15 UTC
does booting with radeon.msi=0 on the kernel command line help?

Comment 3 mikolaj.bugzilla 2012-02-12 20:03:51 UTC
I stopped using fedora 2 months ago ( too buggy on my thinkpad T60 :( ).When 17 is out I will try it again.

Comment 4 mikolaj.bugzilla 2012-03-01 14:59:30 UTC
I decided to try out out fedora 16 once again and this bug is fixed/not triggered at all. Later this week I will check out that exact kernel version that I reported bug with.

Comment 5 Fedora End Of Life 2013-01-16 14:01:17 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '16'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 16's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 16 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" and open it against that version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 6 Fedora End Of Life 2013-02-13 14:58:18 UTC
Fedora 16 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-02-12. Fedora 16 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
