Taking the email thread to here for tracking... The colors were changed deep down in the system to give us the new hex color values defined by UX. Our colors in the menu map to those color palette spots although the color names sometimes dont line up due to those changes. For instance we call for a magenta color on the screen and magenta has had its hex codes changed to a gray. This works fine on the physical console but when using ssh/serial the client picks color 1-8 of its own rather than using the adjusted values we've made and then magenta really is magenta. We just need an alternate set of colors that would work with those preset 8 colors. The newt default does this with a red/blue/white/yellow scheme.
mockup acked, by kbaker, will attach for reference http://gerrit.ovirt.org/2019

Created attachment 577642 [details] ovirt_engine_color (In reply to comment #4) > per kbaker: blue on top is fine, change purple background to gray, dark black > for text, white text in listbox. mockup coming shortly. test on 6.3-20120411.1: 1. it's red on top, not blue, is it ok? 2. background is gray, ok 3. text is dark black, ok 4. "oVirt Engine Configuration" background isn't changed, need fix it. Please confirm 1 and fix 4.
answer 1 by myself, the red on the top is requested by bz806627, it's ok.
The ovirt-engine config screen needs to be handled in a separate bug. It's owned by vdsm bug 813897 has been filed to track this. since that was the only problem, moving back to on_qa
according to c#4 in bz813897, "oVirt Engine Configuration" background is changed to gray also. move the bug to status "verified".
