Description:

Dragonplayer crashes when attempting to play video of any type (mpeg, avi, mov).


Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 6:4.7.3-1.fc16


How reproducible: every time


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start dragonplayer
2. Click "Play File"
3. Select file
  
Actual results: crashes


Expected results: plays file


Additional info: This behavior is not limited to Dragonplayer.  Also happens in VLC and Kdenlive.  Didn't think three separate reports would be helpful.  Xorg log ends with:

Looks like it's failing near and around
/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.so
and
/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/amdxmm.so

included in the catalyst driver, something fedora doesn't ship.  probably can't help you.

Feel free to reopen if you can reproduce using fedora's ati/radeon driver instead.

I just visited AMD Linux Bugzilla and see the same issue reported a couple of times there.  One report notes that xorg-radeon driver does not crash.  I will add my information as a comment to one of those reports.
