Description Dennis Jacobfeuerborn 2011-12-07 23:17:36 UTC
I'm trying to install a Fedora 16 guest on a Fedora 15 host but after 99% of transfering the image to the disk I get a dialog that says there was an error and asks me to retry or exit the installer.

This is what I see in syslog:
...
Dec 8 00:01:15 localhost program: Running... /bin/umount /mnt/sysimage/boot
Dec 7 18:01:15 localhost program: Running... udevadm settle --timeout=300
Dec 7 18:01:15 localhost program: Running... udevadm settle --timeout=300
Dec 7 18:01:15 localhost program: Running... lvm lvchange -a n --config devices { filter=["r|/loop5$|","r|/loop6$|","r|/loop7$|"] } vg_f16/lv_root
Dec 7 18:01:15 localhost anaconda: dispatch: leaving (1) step preinstallconfig
Dec 7 18:01:15 localhost anaconda: dispatch: moving (1) to step installpackages
Dec 7 18:01:15 localhost anaconda: Preparing to install packages
Dec 7 18:01:15 localhost program: Running... lvm lvchange -a y --config devices { filter=["r|/loop5$|","r|/loop6$|","r|/loop7$|"] } vg_f16/lv_root
Dec 7 18:01:16 localhost program: Running... udevadm settle --timeout=300
Dec  7 18:02:30 localhost anaconda: /usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/pyanaconda/iw/progress_gui.py:55: GtkWarning: IA__gtk_progress_set_percentage: assertion `percentage >= 0 && percentage <= 1.0' failed#012  self.progress.set_fraction(pct)

The LiveCD seems to run fine it's just the installation that seems to be completely broken which makes me unable to run an F16 guest at the moment.

I'm running the latest qemu-kvm and libvirt packages on the host:
[dennis@nexus ~]$ rpm -q qemu-kvm libvirt
qemu-kvm-0.15.1-3.fc15.x86_64
libvirt-0.9.7-3.fc15.x86_64

That message is just a warning. Please attach the logs from /tmp/*log as individual plain text attachments. This might be related to bug 753400 -- are you doing a live install to a partition that is 4G or smaller? If so, make the partition a bit bigger (5 or 6G should be ok).

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 14:51:41 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
