Does you BIOS support legacy keyboard emulation of your USB keyboard?
Hi, yes, my BIOS supports legacy keyboard emulation of USB keyboard (seen during power-up). Just bear in mind that I have a W2k partition on same disk and it works fine as well as it did it with 7.1. Problems started with 7.2 7.3 and now with 8.0. Let me know if you need more infos. Giovanni
This would appear to be a kernel issue with USB.
I have the same problem with a Compaq Presario. Is this a similar bug to 75596?
I've got the same problem. May I hope to get a resolution soon?
In a Compaq Presario 1500 (version 1525EA) the install Red Hat Linux 8.0 process hangs while detecting the partitions (during the kernel boot); with RH 7.2 it installs but I can't put the display to work (although I didn't try the framebuffer solution...)
Accoording to an entry in another newsgroup, the problem is solved by using kernel 2.4.19 + a patch to 2.4.10-pre10. http://mm.ilug-bom.org.in/pipermail/linuxers/Week-of-Mon-20021021.txt
Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/
